Arti-Fol® Articulating Film 8 microns 22 mm

Even the tiniest high spots, just a few microns in size, can lead to dysfunctions such as temporomandibular disorders (TMD) and may even hinder swallowing. The test material must meet stringent standards due to the precise occlusal proportions involved. Since occlusal contacts often have very small diameters, they can be difficult to detect on highly polished ceramic or metal surfaces. Therefore, the test material needs to be extremely thin to accurately define the contours of these contacts.

Bausch Occlusion test films are designed to meet these requirements, offering vibrant color markings on challenging occlusal surfaces. The color coating, just 6 µ thick, is made from wax and pigment, with hydrophilic components that enhance color transfer even on moist surfaces.

Bausch Arti-Fol® Occlusion films are particularly effective for assessing both static and dynamic occlusion in multiple colors. The process begins with static occlusion marked in red, followed by dynamic occlusion in black, though the color sequence can be customized. For more detailed assessments of dynamic occlusion, several different colors can be used. Bausch Arti-Fol® is available in four colors, and all films feature double-sided color coatings for marking antagonistic contacts.
