Transparent Striproll and Stopstrips

Transparent Striproll and Stopstrips

One of the useful instruments when shaping and contouring restorative materials (particularly light-cured composite on anterior teeth) is the Transparent Stopstrip. This transparent anterior strip has integrated stops and can be positioned and fastened safely – providing the possibility of operating with only one hand. Additionally, its transparent design allows light to easily penetrate, thus making it the perfect choice for light curing.

A quality that is seen not only in the Transparent Stopstrips, but also in the Transparent Striproll is the highly resistant transparent polyester material which they are both made of. This makes tearing under tension highly unlikely, providing a stable surface for shaping. Striproll is a dispenser that includes a cutting plate – which allows operating without scissors.

Transparent Stopstrips are 8 and 10mm wide, 95 mm long, 0.05 mm thin (with 100 pcs per package).

For ease of use, instructions on how to implement a Stopstrip into your restoration are provided below:

1)     Floss the matrix band between the teeth, right next to the preparation (matrix should be brought down into the sulcus).

2)     Matrix can be secured using a wedge (if the wedge is curved, the curve should be away from the gingiva).

3)     A gentle pull on the strip can be used to ensure its secure placement.

4)     When the restoration is complete, the wedge should be removed first, followed by the strip.

5)     Lastly, final touches of the restoration (such as polishing) can be performed.

As seen, both the Transparent Stopstrips and the continuous roll matrix band (Striproll) are primarily helpful in achieving restorations that appear very natural by accurately shaping the composite to match the anatomy of the tooth. The transparent nature of these instruments allows for better visual control throughout the handling and application process of composite fillings. All of the previously listed features contribute to the high-quality end results of anterior restorations done with the help of these two tools. Try them in your next light curing restoration!
